Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They're used for things like remembering choices you've made, understanding how a site is used, and, on many sites, supporting advertising. This page also covers similar technologies used on trundlepaw.com, such as your browser's local storage.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
Necessary. A small piece of information is stored in your browser's local storage to remember the choice you make in the cookie banner (accept or reject non-essential cookies), so you're not asked again on every page.
Analytics. TrundlePaw uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the Site — for example, roughly how much traffic comes from search and which pages are read. Google Analytics sets its own cookies for this purpose.
Advertising. The Google AdSense code is present on the Site in preparation for a future advertising review, but the AdSense account is not yet approved and no ads are shown to visitors today. Because of the Google Consent Mode settings described in Section 3, no advertising-related storage or personalization happens on your device unless you click “Accept all.” Once AdSense is approved and ads are activated, this section will be updated to name the specific cookies used and to reflect the certified consent management platform described in Section 3.
3. Your Consent Choices
The cookie banner shown on the Site lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies and remembers your choice on this device. Behind that choice, TrundlePaw uses Google Consent Mode: by default, before you make any choice, analytics storage and any advertising-related storage or personalization are set to “denied,” so Google Analytics and Google AdSense do not set those cookies or personalize anything. Clicking “Accept all” updates that signal to “granted”; clicking “Reject non-essential” (or leaving the banner untouched) keeps everything denied. This banner and Consent Mode setup are not yet a certified consent management platform (CMP) under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. TrundlePaw will add a certified CMP, consistent with Google's requirements for the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, before any personalized advertising is served to visitors in those regions — this page will be updated to describe it when that happens.
Until then, you can also control cookies directly through your browser settings — see Section 5.
4. Third-Party Cookies
The following third parties may set cookies through the Site:
- Google Analytics — analytics cookies, as described above; gated by Google Consent Mode until you accept.
- Google AdSense — the AdSense code is present on the Site in preparation for a future advertising review; the account is not yet approved and no ads are served today. Like Analytics, any ad-related storage is gated by Google Consent Mode until you accept, and this entry will be updated with cookie-level detail once AdSense is approved and ads are activated.
Netlify and Cloudflare, which host and deliver the Site, may also use cookies or similar technologies as part of operating and securing it. Please refer to Netlify's and Cloudflare's own cookie and privacy policies for what they set independently of TrundlePaw.
5. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser
In addition to the on-site banner, most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings, and offer a private/incognito mode that doesn't retain cookies after you close the window. Blocking all cookies may affect how some parts of the Site behave.
